Dota 2 Ursa Guide – Win Your Games Easier

This Dota 2 Ursa guide will include all information needed to play with one of the most interesting heroes in the game.

There are a couple of heroes that are usually present in PUB games all the time but only appear in Pro games when there’s a given player. As we’ll see in this Ursa Dota 2 guide, this hero is one of them because she can be incredibly dangerous in the hands of people who can play with her.

Although a lot of people think that Ursa is a STR hero, in reality, she is an Agility melee. The hero will start with 310 movement speed and 4 armor and will deal between 42-46 damage. It may not seem impressive, but Ursa’s abilities allow her to do much more than that, which is why this is the next thing we need to look at in this list.

Abilities

The first step that will help you choose your Dota 2 Ursa build is to learn more information about the abilities.

  • Earthshock – Ursa will leap forward, dealing 225 damage, and slowing down all enemies within a 385 radius for 40% for 4s.
  • Overpower -This ability grants the 400 attack speed for Ursa’s next 6 attacks. Furthermore, the ability grants 25% slow resistance.
  • Fury Swipes – Each attack allows Ursa to deal 37 extra damage. If the target does not get any attacks within 8 seconds, the bonus damage will be lost.
  • Enrage – The ultimate allows Ursa to get 80% damage reduction, a 50% status resistance, and removes any existing debuffs. This ability lasts for 5s and has an 18s cooldown.

One of the interesting Ursa Dota 2 items is the Shard because it allows the hero to get Enrage for 1.5s after using Earthshock. Aghanim’s Scepter, on the other hand, reduces the ability’s cooldown and allows the hero to use it even when she’s disabled.

Talents

  • Level 15 – Enrage grants +20% Status Resistance or Earthshock will apply 2 Fury Swipes
  • Level 20 – Fury Swipes will deal +10 Damage or Earthshock will get a +400 radius
  • Level 25 – Overpower will have +3 Attacks or Earthshock has 2 charges

Ursa Dota 2 Guide –  Tips

Besides choosing the right Ursa Dota 2 item build, you must also know how to use the hero effectively. The most important thing to remember about the hero is that Ursa is incredibly strong in all 1v1 situations. The hero can defeat pretty much anyone on the lane, so you have to try and be aggressive and attack your target once you have Fury Swipes. As soon as you stack it several times, you can go in with Overpower and try to land a kill or at least force the enemy to retreat and regen.

Ursa is not a hero known for her fast farming speeds, even though she can farm fast with a Battefury. Most people try to snowball, so they will get items that allow her to take fights.

Another thing that Ursa is famous for is her ability to kill Roshan. She is the best hero for the job, and players will almost always try to do that early on. This is possible once the hero has some sort of Lifesteal, so keep that in mind.

After securing the Aegis, Ursa can start taking fights, especially if she has a Blink Dagger. This item, plus the fact that she has tons of damage and will be at least a few levels above her opponents, will allow her to get easy kills around the map.

Pros:

  • Extremely strong early on

Dota 2 Ursa Items

Another important of your Ursa Dota 2 build is the different items you need to get for the hero, so let’s go through everything.

Starting items

Ursa should start the game with some HP regen and Mangos. Aside from these items, some players decide to get Wind Lance or Quelling Blade, depending on whether they want to farm or be more active.

Early Game

Ursa definitely needs Boots of Speed and a Magic Wand because she needs the MS and stats/mana/hp regen. Some players also like going for Phase Boots right away and start saving up for a Blink Dagger or getting a Morbid Mask.

Mid Game

The Blink Dagger is one of the best items for this hero, and you can expect to find it in every Ursa Dota 2 guide. Alternatively, people can also get a Shadow Blade, but it is not that effective.

Besides these items, players can also get a Mask of Madness, Diffusal Blade or Basher.

Late game

In the late game, Ursa needs to get a Black King Bar and an Abyssal Blade. The hero also often goes for a Monkey King Bar, HoT and even a Satanic.

Dota 2 Ursa Counter

Even though the hero works well against most opponents, there is an Ursa Dota 2 counter that players need to be aware of.

  • Bloodseeker – Although Ursa can pop her ult and run with BS’s ultimate on, the hero is pretty hard to play against.
  • Phantom Lancer – PL can kite Ursa a lot, and he can kill the bear pretty fast.
  • Chaos Knight – Similar to Phantom Lancer, CK is a pretty solid counter.

Another important thing to remember in this Ursa Dota 2 guide is that any hero with a lot of disables is difficult to play against. This includes Lion, Shadow Shaman, Bane, Shadow Demon, and more.

Conclusion

Despite the counters and the strange Ursa Dota 2 voice lines, there is no arguing this hero is unique in many ways. Ursa is among the best PUB stompers, so expect to see this hero in every meta.
