Dota 2 Patch 7.34 Overview

Here’s more information about the Dota 2 Patch 7.34

A few days after the Riyadh Masters 2023 ended and the BetBoom Dacha began, Valve decided to surprise us with something new. The Dota 2 Patch 7.34 brings tons of changes to the game, and it seems like this will be the 2023 TI patch. Of course, we expect to see at least a few tweaks to it until October, but it doesn’t seem like Valve will be releasing something ground-breaking before The International.

The Dota 2 Patch 7.34 has tons of new things we have to talk about. Instead of going into detail about everything, this article will give you an overview of the most interesting changes. Feel free to follow us for more information because we will also cover the different heroes and item changes in more detail. With that said, let’s learn more information about everything after the Dota 2 Patch 7.34 release date.

General Updates

One of the new things in the Dota 2 Patch 7.34 is the rework in the Captains Mode draft order. This won’t affect pub players, but it will make a difference among professionals, especially since The International is just around the corner.

Following the changes, instead of the 2-3-2 bans and 2-2-1 picks, it will be as follows – 3-2-2 bans, 4-1-2 bans, 1-3-1 picks

There are a few other important changes to the CM mode, such as the time per ban duration during the first phase bans, which is now down from 30s to 15s. This means that players need to be a lot more careful.

In addition to the changes related to the CM mode, there are a lot of other things to keep in mind. For example, there has been a UI update for many abilities that have the Auto-Cast option enabled. The alternative cast abilities now have a unique icon for the different casting modes and more. Check out the full 7.34 patch note for more details.

There is also a new stat called Slow Resistance, as well as a few other key things, so check the full patch note to learn everything.

Item Changes

Dota 2 Items

Regarding the different item changes, after learning about the Dota 2 Patch 7.34 release time, we knew that it has a lot to offer. Some of the things were expected because items like Blood Grenade, for example, were too strong. Many players didn’t realize it, but others have been using the item a lot, and it definitely made a difference.

A lot of the other core items also have small tweaks, such as Hand of Midas, for example. Since this item hasn’t been that popular in the last couple of patches, Valve changed it by adding 2 charges. The charge restore time is 100s, which is good, but we feel like this item might become too popular and receive nerfs in the 7.34b. Of course, we’re yet to see if this will be the case.

Some of the powerful late-game items are also new. Gleipnir, for example, now costs a total of 5650 gold instead of 6150. What’s interesting about the item is that it no longer provides agility and STR bonuses, instead, it gives +450 HP. Furthermore, the Chain Lightning effect will deal 150% damage to illusions, meaning this item is very effective against the likes of Naga Siren, Phantom Lancer, and more.

In addition to the regular items, some o the neutral ones also got changes. Some received more buffs and nerfs than others, such as Martyr’s Plate, for example. This item now grants +5 HP regen, and it only redirects magical damage. Furthermore, the redirect amount is increased from 20% to 25%, and the duration is now 10s instead of 8s.

Hero Changes

Besides the general changes and the different new things related to the items, the Dota 2 patch 7.34 also has tons of hero changes. Pretty much every single hero in Dota 2 received something new, so covering everything here will be almost impossible. Nevertheless, there are a few heroes that deserve more attention.

Anti-Mage

am-2

If we take a look at one of the most popular late-game carries, we can see that Anti-Mage has a new Aghanim’s Shard. As you may remember, the hero could create an illusion next to the caster after reflecting an ability. This illusion dealt 75% damage and took 100% damage, and lasted for 4s.

It seems like this ability wasn’t so popular because Valve decided to rework it in 7.34. The new ability will create a Counterspell shell around the target ally within 600 range, allowing AM to create an illusion when reflecting an ability from an enemy hero. Interestingly, this ability will cost 45s and has a 3s cooldown.

Beastmaster

Beastmaster is another interesting hero that has a reworked ability – Call of the Wild Hawk. When used, this ability will summon a hawk that will dive enemies and deal 150 damage and root the for 1s. Beastmaster can’t control the hawk, but it will prioritize heroes. It will last for 25s, have a 30s cooldown, and has an attack interval of 4s that will scale with attack speed.

Of course, these changes to BM’s ability in the Dota 2 patch 7.34 mean that Aghanim’s Shard no longer provides the Dive Bomb ability. Instead, the item will allow the hero to summon an additional hawk and have 2 of them. This change is very interesting and will make the hero feel a lot stronger.

Centaur Warrunner

The last hero we want to discuss in this Dota 2 patch 7.34 overview is Centaur Warrunner. He is among the heroes that received tons of new things. His Hoof Stomp, for example, now has a lower range, but it has no cast point. However, it has a 0.5s wind-up time, during which Cent can move but can’t attack.

Double Edge is also better than before because it has a 3.5s cooldown instead of a 4s cooldown and deals 120% instead of 150% damage.

The thing that’s new to Centaur Warrunner in 7.34 is the new ability he will get with the Aghanim’s Scepter. Following the changes, the hero will get Workse Horse, which will allow him to deploy a cart for 8s that will grant Stampede buff for the first 4.5s. While active, this ability will be replaced with the Hitch-a-Ride sub-ally ability.
