Dota 2: MDL Chengdu Announced as First Major of DPC Season

Just a day after the first Minor was announced, we know now the name of the first Major as well. MDL Chengdu will be hosted by MDL and it will take place in Chengdu, China. That’s kind of strange because the Minor will be in NA, so it was natural for the Major to be hosted there as well. However, this is not the case.

The first Major of the 2019-2020 DPC season will have a $1M USD prize pool and 15K DPC points. Unless the dates change for some reason, this event will take place between November 16th and 24th. As always, we will see sixteen of the best teams in the world in one place.

There is still no official information regarding the spots for each region. All participants will have to fight in order to make it to the event via the regional qualifiers. Sadly, some of the big teams already announced that they will be skipping the first Major. Despite that, there are many newly formed teams that will definitely put up a challenge and make the entire event worthwhile.

The qualifiers for both the Minor and the Major will start from the 5th of October. In case you forgot, the combined qualifiers are a part of the new DPC rules. Be sure to check them out here.
