Final Fantasy 16 DLC: Square Enix is Considering Different Options

During an interview with GamerBraves, producer Naoki Yoshida said that Square Enix is evaluating different options for Final Fantasy 16 DLC. However, the same producer reiterated that the game was meant to be a complete, enjoyable story even without adding future expansions. However, given the growing demand from players, the development team said they are considering various ideas to expand the game world.

Final Fantasy 16 DLC could happen according to Naoki Yoshida

“As you know, when we started Final Fantasy 16 we wanted to create a complete story, something that you could follow from start to finish 100% without any DLC, and I think we have succeeded in doing that.”

But we now realize that we are getting feedback from players who have played the game and that many of them want to see more, and we understand that. As far as we're concerned, we're taking that into account and thinking about our options moving forward, so hopefully, in the near future we can have something to offer you all.”

“So while we always want to look into DLC or spin-offs or that kind of thing where you can learn more about the game, first we want to find out if Valisthea and Clive are really things that players around the world want to dig into and then taking a decision.”

These statements mirror those already released in late May by Yoshida himself on the occasion of an interview with Game Informer, in which it was precisely said that Final Fantasy 16 is a finished game in which there is no need for other material to tell the story. Consequently, although the team has the will to expand the narrative universe, this will only happen if there is interest from the community.
