Overwatch 2 Season 6 Buffs and Nerfs To Be Aware of

In this article regarding Overwatch 2 Season 6, we will take a look at some of the buffs and nerfs that you should be aware of.

Overwatch 2 Season 6 is just around the corner because it should arrive this week (August 10). In other words, players have just a few days left of Season 5 before they will have the chance to experience everything new in Season 6. Speaking of the devil, you can check some of the Overwatch 2 Season 6 expectations because there are tons of new content we’ll have access to.

In addition to the new map, heroes, modes, and other kinds of things, OW2 will also give us access to tons of buffs and nerfs. We’ve already covered some of them, but this article will share even more things about some of the upcoming changes. Of course, we’re yet to see if Blizzard will surprise us with something new, but until then, here are a couple of buffs and nerfs that you should know.

Sombra

Overwatch 2 hero Sombra holds a purple sphere of energy.

One of the heroes that we’ve mentioned will get a rework in the upcoming Season 6 of Overwatch 2 is Sombra.  Considering the current state of the hero, the game’s devs decided to provide the hero with a new ability. Aside from that, her existing abilities will also receive some small changes so that the hero can be more competitive.

We are not quite  sure what to expect from the new ability., but according to the leeks, it will have something to do with her Translocator. Whatever the changes may be, we are happy that Blizzard is finally addressing the elephant in the Room because Sombra is among the heroes that are nowhere to be found in Season 5. She’s just not as good as the rest, so it will be interesting to see if the changes will have an effect on her.

Orisa

Orisa is the second her that we expect to be affected by the Overwatch 2 Season 6 Buffs and Nerfs. Even though this hero started as one of the best in Overwatch 2, almost one year after the launch of the game, she’s just not on the same level as the other tanks. Sure, there are some scenarios where she works well, but other tanks, such as Ramattra, are way more popular and efficient, so people prefer using it instead.

One of the things that Blizzard decided to do for Season 6 of Overwatch 2 is to buff the hero’s Fortify. According to the information we know, this ability will now give the hero 125 bonus HP in addition to the damage reduction. This will make Orisa harder to kill and a better option to pick in a brawl setup or when the hero needs to go up against Dive.

Another change to Orisa is related to the hero’s damage falloff, which will be extended. What this means is that the tank can do more damage from a distance, making it more effective than usual.

Torbjorn

There is no arguing that Torbjorn is one of the most interesting heroes in the game, especially in Season 5. Even though he was not the meta DPS, he was not that bad either because we’ve seen him in action occasionally. What’s interesting about Torn is that he is one of the most successful heroes in the lower skill brackets, si every buff has an effect on the game.

From the looks of it, the Overwatch 2 Season 6 buffs and nerfs will provide the hero with a faster fire rate for this primary fire mode and a faster weapons swap. The latter may not sound special, but it will allow him to be more efficient in repairing his turret. After all, this is his main source of damage.

Soldier: 76

Overwatch 2 Newest Hero Changes soldier 76

Soldier: 76 is one of those herpes that people pick all the time, regardless of the meta or season. He is really good and works exceptionally well in a variety of situations. The hero was quite popular in Season 5, so most of us are not surprised that he’s among the heroes that will receive a slight nerf in Season 6.

If we look at the different tweets from some of the big names in Overwatch 2, Soldier will get a slight damage reduction to his Helix Rockets and an increase in his ultimate cost. In other words, he won’t be able to kill his allies as easily as before.

Since Sombra and Torb are getting buffed and Soldier is getting nerfed, it will be interesting to see if these two heroes can take his spot for the most popular DPS. Although it doesn’t seem likely, we’ll have to wait to see.

Cassidy

Cassidy was the most popular hero in Season 4 of Overwatch 2 and the name that dominated the professional and PUB games. The insanely-strong Magnetic Grenade finally received nerfs in Season 5, and the hero also received an HP nerf. As expected, these two changes have pretty much “removed” him from the current meta.

With that said, it seems like Season 6 will try to put him back in because the hero’s maximum range for his Magnetic Grenade will now be 1.5s. Furthermore, the hero will receive an HP buff and changes to his damage falloff. Overall, we expect these changes to make the hero feel slightly stronger.

Kiriko

Overwatch 2’s most popular Support for 5 seasons in a row will now be even more appealing. If we take a look at the Overwatch 2 Season 6 Buffs and Nerfs, we can see that Kiriko’s Suzu will now do an additional burst of healing when it cleanses a negative effect. However, the knocking is no longer available.

Mercy

Mercy’s among the most popular heroes in Overwatch 2, and for a good reason. It seems like the devs believe she’s slightly stronger than she should be because the Overwatch 2 Season 6 Buffs and Nerfs will reduce her damage amplifier from 30% to 25%. In other words, she will provide less bonus damage than before.

Overwatch 2’s latest support hero didn’t receive as much love as we thought it would. Consequently, it’s no surprise that Blizzard will introduce a lot of buffs in Season 6 of Overwatch 2.

The team should make him survive longer by adding more HP from his shields and increasing Rejuvenating Dash's healing output. Furthermore, a portion of his ultimate’s healing will now be converted into overhealth.
