Nouns Release cynic

David “cynic” Polster is no longer a Nouns player

Nouns have decided to part ways with their esteemed in-game leader, David “cynic” Polster. This development comes shortly after the team's impressive victory at the ESEA Cash Cup Circuit Finals, which not only granted them a coveted spot in the IEM Fall closed qualifier but also provided them with a Bootcamp during IEM Cologne in July.

cynic’s departure marks the first roster change Nouns have made since February when Edgar “MarKE” Maldonado was signed to fill the void left by Bobby “stamina” Eitrem. With the player break approaching, Nouns are now dedicated to recruiting capable players for the IGL and AWPer roles in preparation for their European boot camp scheduled for next month.

When Nouns acquired the Squirtle Squad roster in September 2022, cynic was among the original members who made the transition. This North American team quickly distinguished themselves as one of the region's most successful squads in the secondary tier, largely due to the influence of the 23-year-old. They secured victories at CCT North America Series 3 and earned coveted spots at prestigious events such as IEM Rio, BLAST.tv Paris, BLAST Premier Spring Showdown, and IEM Dallas.

Nouns faced difficulties in achieving notable results on LAN, failing to secure significant placements in the last two CSGO Majors. Their performance took a downturn with a disappointing 13-16th place exit at IEM Dallas. Even though the entire Nouns outfit underperformed as a whole, cynic’s performance, in particular, drew undesirable attention. He was one of the worst-rated players in the competition with a meager 0.59 score.
