CS 1.6 Players Who Are Still Active In CSGO

Let’s take a look at some of the CS 1.6 players that are still active in CSGO.

It’s been almost one year since we’ve shown you five CS 1.6 legends who played CSGO, which allowed us to take a glimpse at some of the game’s best players of all time. With that said, this article will be slightly different because it will include some of the CS 1.6 players that are still active in the given game.

Of course, we can’t include every single player, so we’ll just go over some of the more interesting names we came across. Keep in mind that many of the CSGO players that were also a part of CS 1.6 are only playing for fun. You can still find them on Twitch and other streaming platforms, but they’re not competing actively. What’s interesting is that all of the names you’re about to see in this article are their teams’ coaches.

Richard “Xizt” Landström

Starting with one of the best Swedish CS 1.6 players of all time, we have Xizt. He is a living legend in this game because he’s been around since 2008. With more than 15 years of experience behind his back. Xizt is one of the best CS 1.6 players that is still active in CSGO.

Speaking of his CS 1.6 career, the player has been a part of a lot of top teams, including H2k gaming. However, most people associate him with his stay with Fnatic between 2010 and 2012, where he became one of the best in the world.

After CSGO’s arrival, the player was a part a lot of legendary teams. This includes Fnatic, Ninja in Pyjamas, FaZe Clan and Dignitas. The latter has his last professional team because he decided to take in the role of an analyst and a coach after that.

Jakub “kuben” Gurczyńsk

Poland has always been home to some of the best CS 1.6 players online and kuben is definitely one of the names that deserve more attention. Every old-school player will remember that he’s been around since 2004, making him one of the oldest and most experienced people in Counter Strike in the world right now.

Kuben’s career started with Teak Sky, and he played for many CS 1.6 teams over the years. However, most people will remember him for his incredible results with MeetYourMakers and Frag eXecutors. These two teams were among the best in the world during his time and they’ve won pretty much every tournament in existence.

As for CSGO, kuben had his share of fun between 2012 and 2013 when he was a part of ESC Gaming. However, the player decided to step down from the professional scene and focus on coaching. Speaking of the devil, he has helped the likes of Virtus.Pro, Team Envy, and MAD Lions. Currently, kuben is a part of Apeks.

Henrique “rikz” Waku

Even though rizk may not be among the CSGO players that first come to mind when talking about CS 1.6, there is no arguing that the 32-year-old Brazilian player has his spot in history. With a career that started in 2006 and ended in 2018, this player has seen it all. He’s been a part of numerous CS 1.6 teams over the years, including teamfuRy, GamerHouse, PlayArt and sixty9.

Danny “zonic” Sørensen

Denmark is one of the countries that’s always been home to the best CS players in the world. Even today, the Danish players are usually on another level if you compare them to some of their colleagues.

Speaking of the country and the CS 1.6 players who are still in CSGO, we need to include zonic. The 36-year-old had one of the most impressive careers in the game that started in 2003. Unlike most other players,. This one on;y played for one CSGO team before he decided to focus on coaching.

Zonic was a part of mTw between 2015 and 2016, but before that, he was already the coach of Team Dignitas. Aside from the latter, zonic also helped Astralis, and since 2022, he is a part of Team Vitality.

Albeit not as popular as the other names we’ve mentioned so far, Fierce is also an interesting CS 1.6 player that is still active in CSGO. Unlike some of the other players, this one started his career in 2009, and he played for Begrip Gaming. What’s really interesting is that Firece didn’t become a part of CSGO until 2016, when he decided to step in for Quantum Bellator.

After that, he became Vega Squadron’s coach, where he spent more than 2 years. Following this endeavor, Fierce joined Vega, followed by Team Unique, and Team Singularity. Since late 2021, Fierce has been a part of FORZE Esports and is the team’s coach.
