Staehr and B0RUP Join Astralis

Astralis have announced the additions of Victor “Staehr” Staehr and Johannes “b0RUP” Borup to their roster

Astralis have announced the signings of Victor “Staehr” Staehr and Johannes “b0RUP” Borup. While Staehr was heavily linked with a move to the Intel Grand Slam Season 1 champions, b0RUP’s signing comes as a surprise. The rifler had previously played for the likes of Heroic, MAD Lions and Copenhagen Flames.

As anticipated, Staehr's addition to the team leads to Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander getting relegated to the bench. The Danish organization will now focus on finding a suitable new home for the skilled in-game leader, who will temporarily reside on the sidelines.

Having actively pursued the 18-year-old talent for an extended period, Astralis has finally secured their target. Nicolai “device” Reedtz, the team's star AWPer, has previously lauded the youngster as one of Denmark's most exceptional prospects in the past five years. The organization has now officially sealed the deal by acquiring the player from Sprout.

As the newcomer joins the starting five, gla1ve will make way for the fresh talent. This change will lead to Benjamin “blameF” Bremer assuming the role of in-game leader. b0RUP, on the other hand, will fill the position left by Alexander “Altekz” Givskov, who will be returning to the Astralis Talent lineup. Consequently, Astralis veteran Xyp9x will be moved to the bench.

The newcomers received high praise from head coach Peter “casle” Ardenskjold, who will be supported by former Talent coach Mathias “R0nic” Pinholt in the upcoming season. Ardenskjold expressed the following thoughts about the new additions:

“I am extremely happy that we have agreed with Sprout on an immediate transfer of Staehr, who is undoubtedly one of the biggest Danish CS talents of the past 5 years. It's an open secret, we've had a good eye for him for a long time, and in terms of what we want with the team, he fits in perfectly. I am looking forward to working with him and helping him to really develop his potential further.

“In relation to b0RUP, he is a player we know well. He has been brought in for the specific role in the system we want to play and I expect him to contribute a lot to the team and his teammates. He is only 23, but he brings in a lot of useful experience, and with these 5 players on the roster, I have a strong belief, we have found a better balance in the team and a will come out with a lot of energy and firepower.”
