CYPHER Departs ITB, Potential Move to International Team

Into The Breach faces roster adjustments as Cai “CYPHER” Watson departs, potentially joining an international team under TSM

Into The Breach announced the departure of Cai “CYPHER” Watson from their active roster. Having been with the organization since June 2021, CYPHER played a pivotal role in their journey, including their impressive performance at the BLAST.tv Paris Major playoffs earlier this year.

Recent reports suggest that CYPHER is in discussions with Team SoloMid (TSM), hinting at a potential move to an international roster alongside players such as Audric “JACKZ” Jug and Timofey “interz” Yakushin. This would mark CYPHER's second venture outside of the UK CS scene.

During his time with Into The Breach, CYPHER showcased his skills and contributed to their success. Notably, he played alongside renowned players like Owen “smooya” Butterfield and William “draken” Sundin. Together, they achieved a significant victory at Assembly Summer 2022 and peaked at the 41st spot in the world rankings. However, their progress could have been improved, and they were unable to reach higher milestones.

Into The Breach underwent a roster overhaul in February, leading to a breakthrough on the international stage. CYPHER played a crucial role in their journey, earning an excellent 1.27 rating during the Paris Major Europe RMR and becoming an integral part of the first British core to make the Major playoffs. Notable performances against FaZe (1.48) and fnatic (1.22) further solidified his impact, even in their quarter-final loss against eventual champions Vitality (1.16).

As Into The Breach adjusts their roster, reports suggest that Adam “NEOFRAG” Zouhar, currently on the OG bench, is being considered as a replacement for CYPHER. This potential change leaves Thomas “Thomas” Utting as the sole remaining UK representative in the team following Sebastian “volt” Malos' recent departure.

The departure of CYPHER from Into The Breach signifies a new chapter for both the player and the organization. While CYPHER explores opportunities with an international team, Into The Breach navigates the challenge of filling the void left by his departure. The CS:GO community eagerly awaits further updates on CYPHER's potential move and the future of Into The Breach in the competitive scene.

Into The Breach’s current roster consists of the following players:

  • Joey “CRUC1AL” Steusel
  • Karol “rallen” Rodowicz
  • Thomas “Thomas” Utting

  • Gustavo “Juve” Alexandre (coach)
