Into the Breach strengthens lineup with Bymas and NEOFRAG for IEM Cologne Play-in, elevating their prospects for the fall season

Into the Breach, a prominent European CS:GO team, has recently announced the signings of Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras and Adam “NEOFRAG” Zouhar as they gear up for the upcoming fall season. This news comes after the team experienced player departures earlier this summer, with Cai “CYPHER” Watson and Sebastian “volt” Malos bidding farewell after an impressive quarter-final finish at the BLAST.tv Paris Major earlier this year.

Bymas, in particular, has much to celebrate as he makes his return to competitive play after a year-long hiatus since his last LAN event, IEM Cologne. At that tournament, he and his former MOUZ teammates secured a spot in the quarter-finals before Bymas was benched in favor of Dorian “xertioN” Berman from the academy squad. Now, the 19-year-old Lithuanian rifler will embark on a new journey with Into the Breach as they prepare for the IEM Cologne Play-in.

Joining Bymas is NEOFRAG, who found himself affected by OG's summer roster overhaul. Despite showcasing great potential with his SINNERS teammates and maintaining an impressive average rating of 1.18 from 2020 to 2022, NEOFRAG struggled to replicate his success on the international stage. However, with his inclusion in Into the Breach's new lineup, NEOFRAG now has an opportunity to rediscover his best form under the leadership of in-game leader Thomas “Thomas” Utting and coach Gustavo “Juve” Alexandre.

Marvin “Punico” Matthes, ITB's Head of CS:GO, expressed his enthusiasm about the new signings: “After the departures of volt and CYPHER, we had to search for international replacements with sufficient experience to finalize our roster ahead of IEM Cologne and the CS2 release. We are delighted to welcome NEOFRAG and Bymas, two young and promising players, to our team. With this new roster, we aim to secure a spot within the top 15 and continue attending EPT and other major events in the future.”

Into the Breach wasted no time in integrating their new acquisitions into the team. They recently participated in the second Gamers8 open qualifier, facing off against MB in a match recorded on HLTV. Despite their efforts, the team fell short with a 10-16 loss on Inferno.

Looking ahead, Into the Breach is now gearing up for the ESL Pro League Season 18 NC Europe Qualifier, set to commence on July 14. Their first match will be against the winner of ECLOT vs. ex-Genk, with a spot in one of the two final qualifying matches at stake.

Bymas, reflecting on his time with MOUZ, shared his thoughts in a tweet on August 26, 2022: “Hey, as you have seen from the news, I have been benched from the active Mouz roster. It was very unexpected and saddening to hear this news a few days ago, as I joined the teamspeak for a practice day and was told that I am getting replaced. I will forever be thankful to Mouz for giving me the opportunity to be here. I have grown immensely as a person and a player, and I'm excited about what the future holds. For now, I will be streaming more often and grinding FPL while I am still under contract with MOUZ.”

Into the Breach's latest signings bring renewed hope and strength to the team as they strive to achieve success in upcoming tournaments, particularly the highly anticipated IEM Cologne. Fans eagerly await the debut of Bymas and NEOFRAG, anticipating the dynamic gameplay and teamwork they will bring to the battlefield.
