CSGO: Flusha, Golden Return to Fnatic

Fnatic has made some long-awaited changes to their Counter-Strike roster, bringing in former members Maikil “golden” Selim and Robin “flusha” Rönnquist. Both Selim and Rönnquist had been on the Fnatic roster that won IEM Katowice in 2018. Rönnquist has officially signed with the team, while Selim joins the roster on a loan from Cloud9.

Maikil “golden” Selim first joined Fnatic in August of 2017 after Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer left the organization. He was brought in to lead the team after a promising performance on Fnatic’s academy team. Rumors of Selim’s benching circulated after Fnatic’s 0-3 exit from StarSeries Season 4 in early 2018. Though the future looked bleak, the Swedish squad managed to bounce back and take an unexpected victory at IEM Katowice. Despite their decent results in the following months, Selim was benched in June. He would later join Cloud9, but recurring health issues prevented him from playing. He returned to Cloud9 in 2019, and was benched after the team’s failure to qualify for the StarLadder Berlin Major. Selim played the Berlin Major as a stand-in for Ninjas in Pyjamas. The team was eliminated in the group stage with an 0-3 record.

Fnatic

Robin “flusha” Rönnquist was a member of the original Fnatic roster that won DreamHack Winter 2013, the first-ever CS:GO Major. He later became one of the first players to ever win three CS:GO Majors, doing so under the Fnatic banner. After a rough showing at the FACEIT London Major, Rönnquist departed Fnatic and joined Selim on Cloud9. Despite his impressive return to form, Rönnquist decided to leave the team after Cloud9’s group-stage exit from IEM Katowice 2019. The Swede has been teamless since.
