The global CSGO top 30 reshuffles following the ESL Pro League Season 17
The ESL Pro League Season 17 took place in March and the tournament has had a sizable impact on the latest global CSGO rankings. FaZe Clan completed their Intel Grand Slam haul by lifting the trophy at Malta, but it could only bring them as far as the second spot in the March 2023 rankings.
G2 witnessed Cloud9 and FaZe participating in the Grand Final, but they were still able to retain their top spot, thanks to their solid performances in previous tournaments.

Other than the ESL Pro League, several CCT events also took place across March. Season 44 of the ESL Challenger League wrapped up, and qualifiers for a handful of big events were also played across multiple regions.

The HLTV World Rankings take into account the performance over the last year, last two months, and performances in tournaments that took place in the last three months.
It's mandatory for all teams to maintain a three-player core to hold on to their points. Online results also dominate the ranking system following a rise of online events in the post pandemic-era.

The Top Four Teams Get Closer To Each Other
G2 opened up a 300 points lead at the top following their IEM Katowice win in February. After the ESL Pro League Grand Final, G2 retained their spot, but FaZe Clan moved within 36 points of them in second place. Third placed Heroic have only eight points less than FaZe. Natus Vincere at fourth are 167 points away from the top.
Cloud9 Make First Top 5 Return In Four Months
A series of poor performances towards the end of 2022, which saw them miss out on the BLAST Fall and World Final, and a handful of roster changes at the beginning of this year plunged Cloud9 lower into the standings. But a resurgent run of 16 wins out of their last 18 games helped them break into the top 5 for the first time since November 2022.
paiN And FORZE Get Top 20 Reward
paiN and FORZE caught everyone's eye at the ESL Pro League by punching well above their weight. The latter were group champions ahead of Natus Vincere, Spirit, and ENCE. They bowed out of the competition with a 5-8th finish, narrowly losing to finalists Cloud9. paiN entered the playoffs by seeing off Rooster, OG, and Grayhound. The Brazilian side picked up a surprise clean sweep against Liquid, but their remarkable journey would end with a hard-fought defeat to MOUZ that handed them a 9-12th finish. Both sides have been rewarded for their impressive performances with top 20 spots in the latest
rankings.

Swedish powerhouse Ninjas In Pyjamas have been a shadow of themselves in recent months. After a horrendous IEM Katowice 13-16th finish, they crashed out early from the ESL Pro League and failed to qualify for IEM Dallas and the BLAST Spring Final. They currently rank 21st, which is the all-time low in their history.
