OWL 2023 Power Rankings – #10 Seoul Infernal

Formerly the Philadelphia Fusion, Seoul Infernal look to leave a second legacy.

The perfect rebrand will hopefully result in the perfect season.

Seoul Infernal 2023 Roster

The team may have been rebranded, but this is still the same legendary organization. Infernal officially rebranding as a Seoul team was the final step in their process. They are now completely at home in Korea. The players, fans, and staff are all centralized making the organization whole once again. The team is still keeping its legacy though, having brought Gael “Poko” Gouzerch back on as a content creator, and retiring the numbers of him, and two of his former teammates: legend Jaehyeok “Carpe” Lee and the late, beloved, Kyeong-bo “Alarm” Kim.

Tank

  • Tae-sung “Mag” Kim

A 2021 Rookie of the Year candidate, Mag has plenty of potential. We've always been able to see spectacular performances out of him individually, but now its time for him to contest for some accolades. This is the kind of team he needs to find the successes required for a Role Star or MVP award. His Main Tank focus may impact his flexibility, but this last year he's had plenty of time to work. There may be some proficient Off-Tank play to be seen from him as well.

Support

  • Yeong-hun “FiXa” Kwon
  • Min-seok “skewed” Kim

Overwatch 2 Support Tier List

This is a fairly ideal Support duo. FiXa is already an experienced member of this team, while skewed brings multiple years of experience from another team and region. While FiXa is already regarded as a great Support player, skewed has been a bit undermined. He was used as a Brigette specialist for some of his time with the LA Gladiators, but we already know that he can perform well as a starting Support player based on other times we've seen him. These two will be a sturdy backline to lean on for their team. We may even see a lot more focus being put on them, as they're in possibly the best position they've ever been in for a season.

DPS

  • Yae-hee “MN3” Yoon
  • Hyun-woo “ZEST” Kim

The DPS line that sent off the Philadelphia Fusion with pride. There two are future role stars in the making. MN3 and ZEST compliment each other perfectly, and having already been an experienced team means they're coming into this season with synergy and flow. They'll be able to run circles around teams in the early part of the season, and they may be able to improve enough to keep that up all year long. There aren't many metas they can't fit into, but they certainly have their specialties. If the metas this season pan out in their favor, they will see few losses this season.

Coach

  • Hyo-Jin “J1N” Cho
  • Jung-yeon “Chara” Kim
  • Sung-min “SUNGMIN” Cho

This coaching staff is pretty loaded. J1N brings the much needed experience with the core of the roster. In a way, that makes him the uniting piece of the core itself. Chara has experience with the core as well, but brings the experience of one being a professional player with the Guangzhou Charge. His premier level experience gives him an outlook that few other coaches in the league can provide. SUNGMIN is new to this team, but as a highly successful Contenders coach, the team is sure to be better off with anything he can provide.

Seoul Infernal 2023 Power Ranking

Having some roster shakeups never leaves promises for anything, but its the risk that reaps the reward. Some really good choices were made by the staff of this team, and the players picked up to fill their roster holes should prove beneficial to the team. Improvement will be necessary, since some of these players still haven't quite reached full potential, but the high chance of that happening makes them a team to watch.
